Improving the Learning Environment
Introduction
By the time we become adults we have already had multiple encounters with learning materials, environments, and instructors. Some of these encounters have opened doors while others have left us feeling frustrated and shut out. As instructors and designers, it is our responsibility to ask ourselves why this happens and consciously look for better solutions.
Creating a comfortable learning environment puts learners at ease, decreases cognitive load and promotes learning. Today we are going to talk about fonts, color, alignment and design. We will look at some of the ways formating can improve learning and make instructional materials easier for students to use.
